In the event that a child goes missing, every second counts. A current photo is often the most important tool to help safely locate the child. The Lifetouch Pictures2Protect® safety card provides exactly that. Through the information on the card, you can give authorities immediate access to your child’s most recent school photo.
A custom series of numbers allows us to
retrieve your child's portrait without
divulging personal information
• Request a free digital download of the Pictures2Protect card. The card stays on your smartphone or digital device so it’s quickly available if you need it. You can also send the digital card to trusted caregivers of your child. Request your digital SmileSafe card
• Store a printed version of the Pictures2Protect card in a safe place. You may have received this printed card as part of your school portrait order. Keep it in a place where it won’t get lost and you can quickly access it. For this reason, you should not give the card to your child to keep.
What to do in an emergency
If you believe your child is missing, act immediately.
1. Call your local police service. Provide your child’s name, date of birth, height and weight, along with unique identifiers such as eyeglasses and braces. Tell them when you noticed your child was missing and what clothing he or she was wearing.
2. Call the number on the Pictures2Protect card to reach MissingKids.ca. MissingKids.ca caseworkers are available 24/7 to help you in an emergency, toll free at 1-866-KID-TIPS (543-8477). Let them know you have a Pictures2Protect card, and they’ll help with requesting your child’s image if it’s needed.
3. Lifetouch volunteers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to rapidly respond to child portrait requests.
